Images

Some of the Images on this website don’t always have suitable descriptions or could be missing. Users with screen readers and other technologies may not be able to understand the information in the images. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content).

Some of the tables on this website might not have table row headers, or be properly formatted. This can screen readers and other technologies may not be able to understand the information in the tables correctly. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships).

PDFs and other documents

Many documents like PDFs, Microsoft document types and others might not be accessible or corrupt. Others might be missing text, alternative text, images and data. Due to this document structure could have a broken. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 4.1.2 (Name, role value).

Contrast 

Some parts of the site might have poor colour contrast. This could be buttons, text, links, images and other parts of the site. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.1 (Use of Colour).

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

PDFs and other documents

Some of our PDFs and Word documents are essential to providing our services. For example, we have PDFs with information on how users can access our services, and forms published as Word documents. By September 2021, we plan to either fix these or replace them with accessible HTML pages.

The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services. For example, we do not plan to fix any non-essential document.

Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.

Live video

We do not plan to add captions to live video streams because live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.

Any new Videos created by the site will be advised the benefits of adding subtitles to their videos.

Embedded Code from Alternate sources

YouTube, Google, Facebook, Twitter and other organisations allow you to embed code into your website. This code cannot be updated by us. This means that this code can be none compliant.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We are constantly trying to update and improve on sections that are working, need tweaks, updates and if there are any issues.

This is ongoing process which is constantly being monitored and updated.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 7 January 2020. It was last reviewed on 17 March 2021.

This website was last tested on 17 March 2021. The test was carried out by Telford & Wrekin Council.

We have tested, and examined a large sample of different pages and items on the pages. We have used tools to check to make sure any parts that have been raised within the project have been updated throughout the website.
